• REACH Regulation (EC No. 1907/2006): This regulation places strict restrictions on harmful chemicals in leather, including a tight limit on Chromium VI (max. 3 mg/kg) and bans on substances like azo dyes and formaldehyde. We work closely with our suppliers to obtain test reports and compliance certificates, guaranteeing that our leather is free from these hazardous materials.

• Labelling Obligation (Directive 94/11/EC): We believe in transparency. Our footwear is clearly labeled to indicate the materials used for the upper, lining, and outsole, so you always know exactly what you’re stepping into.

• EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR, 2023/1115): Looking ahead to the end of 2024, this new regulation will ensure that all leather on the EU market is deforestation-free, requiring traceability back to the farm. At Saint Savoy, we are already preparing to meet these requirements, ensuring our supply chain is transparent and sustainable from start to finish.

Additionally, our leather is sourced from tanneries within the EU that comply with the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) and the Water Framework Directive. This means our partners must adhere to strict national wastewater regulations, guaranteeing that their processes are environmentally responsible and aligned with EU law.
